Steve thanks for the review of my song Home. You are 100% spot on about the levels being all over the place and parts stepping all over each other. Me and a couple of friends recorded that song in my parent's garage back in 2002 on a Tascam cassette portastudio. I mixed it on that machine too. Lol! Btw I just listened to your song RIFITUS. I dig it man. Did I hear some Malmsteen in there?
Steve Thanks for the nice review of my song Sick Boy Much appreciated Ante
Thanks for the solid review, Steve. Actually was a real drummer, not a machine but he kept is pretty straightforward without a lot of flair. That song has been licensed in Eastern Europe (Sport1 TV) and Toronto Canada so it hasn't killed the overall feel.
Very Cool, Bob! Thanks for letting me know. The drum sounds were very solid. Were they embellished with triggered sounds? Keep up the good work. Best of Luck! Steve
Hey Steve, New tunes are killer! They're like symphonies, with all the different movements and textures, just amazing!! Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on the recording, tunes sounds great! Take care, George
Hey Steve, thanks for the endorsement! Right back at ya!!
Hey George. I hope all is well - Diggin' the tunes! I'm finally getting back into music after a long hiatus. I've assembled some recording gear and and am slowing learning how to navigate it - I've posted my first couple of attempts on my page: "Smokin' Spinach" and "Steve's Hillbilly Stomp". As you can tell, I have a ways to go the knock the cobwebs off... Take care & have a Great 2023! Steve
Hey Steve. Thanks for the endorsements! Great to have you back! Gonna listen to your new tunes, I'm sure they are smoking!! Alll the best, George
Hi Steve ... would love to have you know out some lix on a couple of my tracks. You up for the collab? Keep well. J Out.
Thank you so much for your review of my song 'Terrapin Moon' it really means a lot. Thanks again, Greg.
Thank you for the kind review of one of my tunes, "Hanging Judge". Your constructive critique is most appreciated!
George, Thanks for your kind review of one of my tunes - Your constructive critique is most appreciated. Take care, Steve P.S. I never use harmonizers - those are actual guitar harmonies laid over the original lines. I really should alter the tone on the harmony lines a bit, but I generally just lay something down and then immediately throw a harmony (often a third) on top. A bit lazy on my end...
I should known that was your tune!! That really is some incredible playing. We crossed paths when my band The Spiders had a page on BJ. All the best, George
Thanks George - I really enjoyed the Spiders stuff. Looking forward to checking out your new material! Take care, Steve
Thank you for the kind review of one of my instrumentals - Your constructive critique is most appreciated!
Your welcome, I just wish I had more to say about the song. In all honesty, I spent at least 10 minutes thinking about trying to put some lyrics to it for you but didn't have the time in the middle of doing the review.
Thanks - Most of those tunes posted on this site were actually originally written for vocals. Ultimately, I just decided to sleaze 'em up a bit with lots of guitar. I had a lot fun doing them, but knew in the end they would likely be appreciated by another guitarist... Thanks again! Steve
thank you so much for your nice words, yes there's tons on Satch inspiration in this one despite I usually play kinda differently :) thank you again!
Hi Steve, Thanks for the review on "Benandonner" Much appreciated!
thank you so much for your honest review on my song "do you think you are a star" I really appreciate the nice words and even your feedback! :) best! Max
My pleasure
Thanks for the kind review of one of my tunes. Your constructive critique is most appreciated! Steve
I loved `Face 2 Face'! Superb!
Steve you're a hell of a guitar player (but maybe you have to be in Austin). I always enjoy reviewing your work!
Hey John, Thanks for your kind review of one of my tunes - "Nightmare Alley". Your critique is most appreciated. I agree with your suggestion of adding a bit more effect on the guitar during the bridge. To be honest, the tune was never intended to be an instrumental. I simply had to cease work on the project as I had to "gear down" for a move to a new location. I will re-visit the tune in the near future & hopefully give it more polish. Take care, Steve
Hi Jeff, Thanks for your review of "Arabic Moon", great feedback. Tommy
Hey Tommy, My pleasrure--that's a good tune with a huge intro statement. All the comments are IMO of course and meant as "good to great" thoughts. Listening again, that head motive is really strong, and maybe I failed to note how good your playing is when you're in the zone!!
That's the kind of review I want, very helpfull. Thanks again. Tommy
Hey Jeff, Just wanted to say thanks for your kind review of my tune "Bits-n-Pieces Boogie". I appreciate the kind words. I agree, the song is a bit "out there" but was never really conceived with a commercial approach but rather just having "no rules" fun in the studio... Thanks again & Take Care! Steve
Hey Steve, "The best of me" Rocks! great dirving tune...nice work on the strings, sounds like a good band to play with. Drew and Rob
